The US Navy

No, officially the Navy's birthplace is considered to be Philadelphia, PA.

However, nearby Beverly/Marblehead, MA  claims to have been the birthplace of the Navy's first ship, the schooner Hannah, commissioned by George Washington. It sailed from Beverly in September 1775, initiating the first organized naval resistance of the United States.

We'll be passing by the famous Marblehead Lighthouse while we take the Salem Ferry into Boston!
